About This Race
This is a multi-loop trail run through the Sandhills of North Carolina to benefit the Old Glory Legacy Foundation. The ideal November weather makes this a great time to enjoy the same pinetree lined trails the Old Glory Legacy Foundation uses to host our Nation's veterans and their families as they hike or ride horses. You can look forward to the best hospitality the communities of Pinehurst, Aberdeen, and Southern Pines has to offer as we feature local treats at our aid stations and post-race party! This race is organized by veterans to benefit veterans. If you want a military friendly race, you have found the right place!
The race will be a 10 mile loop, with aid stations at the start/finish and 5 mile points. The course will be a mix of trail, paved road, and grass. All will receive a high quality long-sleeve tech t-shirt, well stocked aid stations and post-race food/drinks. Finishers will receive a custom Old Glory Trail Trot medal. Overall winners and age group winners will receive custom designed awards.
All proceeds of this event will be donated to the Old Glory Legacy Foundation.
The Old Glory Legacy Foundation brings Soldiers and their families together to build strong family relationships and lasting memories through outdoor activities.
The focus of the program is to provide a positive, stress-free and relaxing atmosphere where Service Members and their families can reconnect and nurture family relationships, make lasting memories, and strengthen those family ties that will get them through those tough times.
The concept of a benefit race started with the Director of the Southern Pines Ultra Running Club (SPUR CLUB) and the Director of the Destin Beach 50 All Beach Ultra. Once the charity was identified, the Old Glory Trail Trot was born.
